Labour Management Partnership Programme
About the Programme
What is the Labour Management Partnership Programme?
Labour management partnerships serve as a catalyst for educator collaboration as it creates a positive climate and promotes better communication and information sharing.
Based on the success of the USA model to establish and sustain sound rapport between unions and school administration, Parties to the ELRC developed a framework for a Labour Management Partnership Framework for South Africa.
The Programme “Collaboration between the Department of Basic Education, Labour-Management Partnership and School Level Educator Collaboration” was officially adopted by the Council in 2022.
In an effort to create a platform to formally introduce the Labour Management Partnership for the public service sector in South Africa, in particular basic education, the Council hosted a National Workshop on 21 and 22 February 2023, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. Provincial launches commenced in May 2023, the final provincial launch was in Gauteng on 14 June 2023.
